We cannot pretend it is easy volunteering for Jigsaw but the personal reward is immense. Volunteers are supported and trained throughout their time with us and we do everything to take care of such precious people. Honesty, dedication and continued commitment, alongside being of good character or our basic requirements. Part 2: The Volunteer

Volunteer Agreement

I agree:

  • To perform the volunteering position to the best of my ability.
  • To follow the organisation’s procedures and standards, including those relating to health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to its staff, volunteers and service users.
  • To meet time commitments and standards agreed to, and to give reasonable notice so that we can make other arrangements.
  • Not to divulge any information concerning any person and to not contact any service user after ending my volunteering with Jigsaw.
  • To provide referees, who may be contacted, and to agree to a police CRB checks being carried out where necessary.

This agreement is binding in honour only, is not intended to form any part of a legally binding contract between us.

Volunteering and may be ended at the discretion of either party. This agreement does not represent any employment relationship now or in the future.

1. Induction and Training

  • Jigsaw will provide you with a thorough induction in the work of Jigsaw Support Scheme and its staff.
  • We will outline your volunteering role and the induction or training you need to meet the duties of this role.
  • We will identify and provide any additional training when necessary.

2. Supervision, support and flexibility

  • Jigsaw will explain the standards we would like to achieve and encourage and support all our volunteers to achieve and maintain them.
  • We will provide a named person who will meet with you regularly to discuss your volunteering and any successes and problems and training.
  • We will do our best to help you develop your volunteering role with us.

3. Expenses

Jigsaw will repay out-of-pocket expenses, including travel to and from home     to the place of your assigned volunteering.

4. Health & Safety

Jigsaw will provide any relevant training to support our Health & Safety Policy.

5. Insurance

Jigsaw provides adequate insurance cover for volunteers whilst undertaking voluntary work approved by us.

6. Equal Opportunities

We ensure that all volunteers are treated in accordance with our equal

opportunities policy.

7. Problems

Jigsaw aims to resolve any problems, grievances or difficulties you may have as a matter of priority.
